If you don't want to have an exact copy of your DVD on another DVD but rather take it with you on your HD, while you travel for example, then just stop after ripping the DVD to your hard disk with DVD Ripper for Mac.
This though will result in a fairly big file, depending on the DVD. If you want to get smaller files and don't care too much about the quality, then rip your DVDs to your hard drive using Video Converter for Mac which will reduce the files to something around a gigabyte depending on the options and the movie.
Once you have compressed the DVD you can burn it using either the free Disk Utility that came with your Mac, Toast or DVD Copy for Mac (Note that DVD Copy includes functions of DVD burner in the latest version).
You can also use Toast or DVD Copy for Mac to copy a single layer DVD or to burn a DVD from a folder on the hard disk, This makes burning DVDs simple, although the application is not free.
To decrypt encrypted DVDs and to break the RCE/structure protection, get the newest version of DVD Ripper for Mac and use it to extract the DVD to your hard disk. Note that it is illegal to break such encryption in the USA (due to the DMCA) and in Europe.

Many commercial DVDs are actually dual layer DVDs that can hold up to 8.5GB of data. As of this writing (November 2005), although dual layer DVD writers are available for $30 upwards, dual layer DVD media still cost a lot (compare around $2+ for one dual layer disc vs. around 30 cents for a single layer disc).
So if you want to make a backup of that dual layer DVD without having to use expensive dual layer media, then you need to "shrink" the data on the dual layer DVD so that it can fit on a single layer disc (that can hold up to 4.7GB). On the Mac, you can use commercial applications like DVD Copy for Mac or DVD2OneX to do this.
If you have access to a Windows PC, you can use a free application called DVDShrink to do the same. Note that shrinking DVDs means losing out, to some extent, on the quality of the picture and sound. Use one of these applications to create a DVD folder that's smaller than 4.7GB.
The application you use would be able to provide you the right compression level to make the contents fit on a single layer disc.
Commercial DVDs that use encryption use a scheme called CSS (Content Scrambling System), which makes them impossible to copy using applications like Disk Utility or Toast.
Of course, the DVD Player application that comes with Mac OS X does know how to decrypt your DVDs - otherwise you wouldn't be able to watch those movies on your Mac!
Protection of DVDs is used in combination with encryption to make it difficult to copy the DVD.
This is my first camera phone so that is a plus, the quality of images is acceptable, image transfer is easy, but I wish it was a 2 megapixel camera and not a 1.3 megapixel camera.
:DThe external screen and rotating camera lets you either shoot images clandestinely or lets your subjects see the image at the same time.
Shooting video via a cellphone proved to be fun - but if you make it a regular habit, get a bigger microSD card (especially if you use the mp3 player). I didn't use the mp3 features that much so I cannot speak too much for those features, but easy to plug in headphones - or better yet, get a wireless Bluetooth Stereo headphone like Jabra's.
3G is great for internet access and video (mainly for news and sports) when available. Speed is usually really good when you get 3G, but you notice a substantial drop-off when going to the next level down. Sometimes, when u get one 3G phone, and want to enjoys videos on the phone, got one good 3G video converter is necessary. So I gooled and found Xilisoft 3GP Video Converter is good for this , really a good for use, here is the link to download for free
Availability seems to be getting better. Check the Cingular 3G map on their website - it seems fairly accurate from my experience.
It sucks that this phone does not have a built in email feature. I use a web-based email interface through its browser but it cannot be sized for the cellphone screen size so lots of scrolling.
If you have web-mail that can be sized for a small handheld screen size, then it should work well especially with the 3G connection.
a good fast phone Overall, the phone which I purchased in early August is a good everyday phone. Features are great, 3G is nice when available, and design is acceptable.
I upgraded from another LG phone - the g4050 - so the on-screen interface and keying were similar making it easy to navigate - and it should be easy for anyone else to figure out.
The external screen has a nice feature for accessing the phone's major features - camera, video, and mp3 player ,supporting MP3 / AAC / AAC+ / WMA - so you don't have to open the clamshell. The internal screen size and quality is pretty good and should hold its own in comparison to other similar phones on the market.
Projects based on the FFmpeg project, including MPlayer, xine, and VLC Media Player, have rendered most problems with viewing AVI format video files irrelevant, regardless of internal format or codec needed, due to FFmpeg's high compatibility.
In June 2005, DivX, Inc. released its own container format called DivX Media Format (.divx extension) to succeed the AVI + DivX combo. However, this format is basically an enhanced AVI format (based on the same RIFF structure) and so far, has gained no perceivable traction in file-sharing communities where the DivX codec is popular.
Despite its limitations and the availability of more modern container formats (see Matroska, Ogg and MP4), AVI remains popular among file-sharing communities.
This is probably due to its high compatibility with existing video editing and playback software like Virtual Dub and Windows Media Player. Even many video converters support converting .avi ,too.
The tendency has been to install codec packs like ffdshow to augment DirectShow, using AVI as a common-ground, lowest-common-denominator format.
:DIronically, while the codec/container incompatibilities mentioned in the above paragraph have undermined AVI's near-ubiquity, the obscurity and tech-savviness of those involved in the file-sharing groups has rendered this irrelevant.
AVI is considered by many to be an outdated container format.
There is significant overhead when used with popular MPEG-4 codecs (XviD and DivX, for example), increasing file size more than necessary.
The container has no native support for those codecs' modern features like B-Frames. To circumvent this problem, cumbersome hacks (programming) are used, causing incompatibilities in some players. Hacks are also used to implement subtitles.
The highly efficient H.264 codecs use even more compression tricks, and thus are even more ill-suited to the format, particularly Main and High Profile.
If you have none of these options go into the program you use to manage infrared and send the file by browsing your file's then sending.
Movies Note: You will only be able to play movie's on 3gp enabled device's, im not too sure which phones can and cannot play video file's but if you can record video the chance's are that you can play it.
Install and open the program, click on file then add browse your files untill you find the video you wish to convert make sure it is set to convert to 3GP and click encode.
