My itouch switches off during song playback, too. The battery reads fully charged. It will work for a few minutes then die. Turn it back on and it goes to main screen. I tried restoring but it did not help.

I suggert you go to apple forum, maybe there are some useful information for you.

Yes you can take content back from your Zune normally.
Even on other PCs you can move content back and forth. But this content can't be from Zune Marketplace (DRM-protected only, not the normal mp3-tracks).

Zune v1 allowed Marketplace content to be moved back only on your "home" Zune Software installation. I'm not sure what's the case with v2.

But non-Marketplace content can be moved with no problem.
