OK, I have been capturing my favorite local sports teams games using regular tv (not high def). The files are NTSC MPEG-2 480X480 29.97. Problem is that an 1 1/2 game has averaged about 1.8 GB. I have seen good quality games at about 700-900 MB in DIVX formats and have spent my past few weekends trying out every conversion software I could. I've used TMPGE 3.0, autoGK, xilisoft avi mpg convertor, DIVX convertor and Fairuse. I had a few older games converted to DVD format and Fairuse seemed to do a good job of ripping and converting to a usable sized divx, but all the others..man, the video is horribly granual, blocky and hardly watchable. Is there a secret to getting quality video results using these programs? I just cannot seem to find the correct settings to make this work.
I want to told you thant some software convert video format to dvd will not play. because the encode and decode is different. Now most pouplar encode and decode method in the world is H264.
