That just caused by you did't set the converting video size , if you set the larger the video quanlity will be much beter . While I suggest you use XIlisoft Video converter and it provide easy setting !

I think that caused by the DVD creator you used , I suggest you choose some better one like Xilisoft DVD Creator. It can ensure the video quanlity  and also provide very fluent video stream when it is played in your DVD player

While ,The converted DVD always decryped the primitive code of DVD format, while The DVD you bought only support encryped one , So it can not be played on your DVDs. I suggest you choose some well converter like xilisoft DVD Creator may be OK . But I am not sure.
