Here you go: http://www.tivo.com/whatistivo/tivohd/productspecifications/prodspecs.html

The S3 will eventually be replaced with a cheaper model but still the same functionality. I use TiVO desktop software to transfer videos to the S3. I used Fair Wizard to convert a video to h.264 but AVI container but it didn't work. Still searching for the the killer app that would convert a video file to play h.264 for TiVO HD, PS3 and XBOX 360.

Some instructions transferring videos to the S3: http://tivosupport2.instancy.com/TivoCollection/4012d160-79c3-4238-96c8-a27b323d1413/ins_content.html

The main reason I want a MP4 / H.264 format is so I can use my Windows Home Server to store all my vides and all of my DVR and Media Extenders should be able to read and play the same file format without any issues.

Thank you,

-M

That would be a great feature! With Media Extenders all over the place it would be great to have support for TiVO S3, PS3 and XBOX 360. I'm too greedy for my wish but I happen to own all of the above. Thank you! Looking forward to the next release and would gladly pay and support it.  Smiley

Thank you very much!!!  Smiley

I really appreciate this help. For most of the movies I am encoding now on h.264 are about 4GB. I'll try encoding for 2GB and see if I could retain excellent quality and also save up on disk space.

The X-Box h.264 guide is perfect!!!

Thank you again,

5  DVD Rip / Hard Disk / H.264 for xbox360 versus TiVo S3? on: January 11, 2008, 01:00:06 AM
Greetings,

I searched the forum but didn't find the answer I am looking for. I would appreciate it if any one could respond to my questions:

1. I an using FairUse Wizard's (ver 2.5) to encode h.264 video files and it works great on my TiVo S3. However, the same file will not play on my XBOX 360 elite. Does anyone know what setting on FUW I need to use to make it work for XBOX 360? Is there a different h.264 encoder that will work for both XBOX 360 and TiVo S3?

2. What should be the reccomended h.264 video file size for HD and DVD movies? Is there a specific file size that yields the best quality?

Thanks in advance!!
