This is what happened to me, and what I did.

First off, the I00, I01, I02...etc files are pretty much the same thing as an iso file. 

I used DVD shrink to save as image.  IF is saved it directly to my HD, it was saved as a iso, but when I saved it to my external HD directly from DVDshrink (I want to keep an actual copy on hand) it was saved as a I00, I01 style files.  I wanted an ISO version  on hand so if I need another back up after my daughter ruin all her copies for the DVD player in the minivan, I wouldnt' have to spend another 15-20 minutes re-encoding each disk again when I needed it. 

Before I bought a dedicated External HD just for my DVD backups, I just saved the ISO image directly on to another DVD using NERO and saved it as a data file, NOT as an image file.  if you have alot of ISOs like i do, they eat up memory space fast.


I then opened the mds file with DVD decrypter (dvd shrink wouldn't let me open it for some reason).  I was able to burn the DVD in question just like I was using an iso file to do it.

Another option would be to use DVDshink to rip your DVDs for backup.  When you are ripping it, it gives you the options to copy directly, save as an iso, or save as a hard disk folder.  When you save as a hard disk folder, it saves it as a Audio_TS and a Video_TS file.

When you want to burn a backup and are using Nero, just use the option of saving as a data disk, copy the two TS file as data to your blank DVD, after you do that, it will play just like a normal dvd.
