I have a movie in my HDD in two separate avi\'s and i want to write them into a dvd (basically: to join them into one).

How can I do that?
Using: Nero and DivxToDVD

Thanks,
N from Estonia

Hi,

I take it that you are not converting it to another format right? And the format in question is AVI?

Well make sure the frame rate, bit rate and the size of the video (width x height) are the same or merging is not possible . Also applies for the audio everything has to be the same. Please use Gspot for this.

To join the AVI if the above are true, please use virtualDUB and refer to the guide here http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/virtualdub_join_avi.cfm

Ok i downloaded that thing.

Now it gives me an error \'couldn\'t locate decompressor for format \'DX50\' (unknown)

I installed some directshow decoding filter (fddshow) but that didnt help.

Perhaps you can try uninstalling your current DIVX codec and installing a newer version.

Nero will join the files for youand then convert it to DVD and burn it.

To combine the files choose Make Movie in Nero Vision Express. When you import the AVI files they will join automatically. When you return to the main screen, click the More button at the bottom left. There is a choice here to have nero automatically add chapters, you can always do it manually afterwards if this option isn\'t selected. Once you are happy with the movies you can proceed to burn as you would normally. It will take longer than usual as it re-encodes the AVIs to standard DVD format.
