Formula 1 2004-2005 Thread!

I know that probably the guys from USA don\'t know many things about F1 (you have Cart there! but for everybody that is in the trick here is the post!
First race finished and the domination of the Ferraris shocked me! Yes I am a Ferrari fan, but I had expected this championship to be the best of all time. Schumi and Ferrari was just faster than anyone else and we\'ll have to see other races to understand if we are going to see a repeat of the 2002 championship.
Williams BMW was just too slow, Montoya did another stupid mistake and Ralf was just slow the whole weekend. The new engine is good, I don\'t know if they have finally created a good car that works in all circuits.
McLaren Mercedes was very very bad, they seem not to be fast enough to catch with the others. Another problem and more lost points for Raikkonen. I think they are choosing the wrong strategy with 2 pit-stops instead of 3 that eveyone else does.
Renault was OK, they got a podium finish. I expect them to be able to fight with the big teams.
From the other teams, BAR Honda was very good, good qualifing for Button and he scored some points also. Sato did this crazy stuff once again!
Jaguar was in a good shape, I think we will just see some points from them, the same thing I am prepered to watch for Toyota and Sauber.
Jordan Ford will just try to get some points and Minardi will just take part in the champioship.
The standings in Australia:
1. M Schumacher - Ferrari
2. R Barrichello - Ferrari
3. Alonso - Renault
4. R Schumacher - Williams
5. JP Montoya - Williams
6. J Button -BAR Honda
7. Trulli - Renault
8. D Coulthard - McLaren

Hey Afonic,
Me and my Dad always watch F1 and this season is going to be great!
I think the Williams BMW have a secret weapon up their sleeves as the new engine is not at its full potential. I can see this car becoming a great car, but like you said Afonic, who knows if they have finally created a good car that works in all of the circuits.
The Ferraris were wickedly quick in Australia and it proved it\'s self with a 1st and 2nd podium win for M Schumacher and his team mate R Barrichello, but I think they are as good as they are gonna get, mechanically speaking!.
Like you said Afonic, McLaren Mercedes were very disappointing, talk about reverse engineering lol!
Anyway, looking forward to a great season

Well, I am really p!ssed off today because someone decided to break into my dads works, so me and my dad missed the F1 race
I\'ll have to catch up with the highlights later on, but it sounded like it was a great race with Jenson Button finishing third!
Anyways, anyone who watches F1, leave your comments here

Well it was a rather boring race.
Schumi for another race started and finished in P1. Montoya raced just without mistakes, plus a good start and finished 2nd.
Button was really good! He was driving like hell and finished 3rd after and amazing race. Well done to BAR too that seemed to be improved a lot.
Barrichello was poor, Coulthard even worse.
Trulli was stable and Alonso once again impressed me by brining his car to P7 from the last place in the grid. Of course in the qualifying was his, so I think it\'s all equal.

Hi,
It was in the desert on a new track for the first time and it was GREAT!
What a race but it was still a bit boring as it was Ferrari 1,2 then Williams BMW 3,4 and BAR 5,6. I did feel sorry for Raikkonen starting at the back with no chance of a podium finish lol

The last grand prix was a nice walk for Ferrari. BAR were amazing, Renault OK, Williams good but unlucky, but McLaren was a disaster!!!! I can\'t believe they destroyed 4 engines in 3 races! My god!!!
I am a Ferrari and Schumi fan, but I like the championship to be fun, and how it started this year is no fun at all!

Feel sorry for schumi, he is doing every thing 110% but the race will be called boring and ferrari will be punished for getting it together like no other team has.

I\'ts not his fault that it\'s boring! The other teams and drivers must do a better job! Last here he tool the champ again, but nobody said it was boring!
Let\'s hope that with the return in Europe (Imola) next weekend the other teams will be better! If not Barrichello is our only hope to see some action for P1!

San Marino Grand Prix 1994-2004. 10 years from Ayrton Senna\'s death in the same circuit. We will always remember him.
Now in the racing part, Michael Schumacher did the 4/4.
Nobody seems fast enough to beat him, not even his team mate Rubens Barrichello. MS did a small mistake in qualify and lost P1 but in the race after the hard challenge with Montoya in the start he just did 2 fast laps when Button entered the pits, passed him and then drove the car easily to the end. Barrichello had a bad race (he never drives good in Imola but not forget that he also almost lost his life in the qualify of that race in 1994 when Senna died, and maybe he feels not good). He achieved a P6, but he needs to improve in order to challenge MS and give some action to the champ.
Button made another excellent race. He took the first pole of his life in Saturday and in Sunday he had a solid race, beaten only by MS and easily staying ahead of the other drivers. Another good weekend for BAR, who seems that can enter the top 3 teams in the teams championship. Sato also had a good race, but a broken engine did not let him win any points.
BMW Williams had an average race. Montoya finished where he started and took 6 points. Ralf could be 4th, but an accident with Alonso dropped him down to 7th. Williams need to do many improvements and fast if they want to challenge Ferrari. Renault just good enough to achieve a P4 and a P5 and get some valueable points. Trulli was P3 but the strategy from his team was not so good, so he dropped to P5. Alonso had a very good race, but he had an accident while trying to pass Ralf even though I don\'t think it was his fault.
McLaren also had many problems. Raikonnen had another problem with the engine and he started 20th, but he was the lucky one and after the Sato\'s engine blew, he took the 1 point of the 8th position. Things are not good in McLaren, and they should also replace Coulthard as it is the second season that he can simply not race.
For the other teams no comments, just another boring race for them as they are very slow to pass the top teams. They just fill up the grid and now that the top teams are 5 (Ferrari, BAR, Williams, Renault, McLaren) they need at least 3 cars to fail in order to get some points. Sad for Sauber that has a car that\'s the same to the one ferrari had last year with Ferrari engine too and cannot store no points. Toyota will get better from race to race, Jaguar, Jordan and Minardi are going to be the last 3 teams, probably with this order.
This one probably was the last Imola grand prix as from next year it will not exist and the Turkish one will take it\'s place in the calendary. Next race in 15 days in Barcelone, Spain.
