I once posted a quick guide on how to add VOB files in TMPGEnc DVD Author and make a menu. Here is a nice detailed guide that will hopefully help everyone.

Step 1:  First things first you need to convert your .avi files to .vob using software such as Xilisoft Video Converter (my favorite) or VSO divx to dvd, etc. Once you get enough content to make a dvd open up TMPGEnc DVD Author and click Create new project

Step 2:  Click Add file and navigate to the folder your .vob files are in, make sure All files(*.*) is selected for Files of type:, select the first file you want to add and click Open

Step 3:  Click Chapter cut edit move the slider to the spot where you want to add the chapters and click Add current frame to chapter click OK when finished. Next click Add new track… and repeat the steps again for each track.

Step 4:  Click the Create menu tab, I like to choose Blue from the Menu Themes because it’s the most customizable and it has the chapters on separate pages which I like. If you have a picture you want to use for the background choose Specify background image otherwise just use a default theme and change the text as needed.

Step 5:  Once your background theme is added you can now play with the placement of the text, to move the text to the right put spaces before it, to move it to the left put spaces after it. I always delete the yellow Title text but you can use it if you want. You can edit the chapter menu the same way, click Next page to go to the chapters.

Step 6:  Select an output folder and click Begin output after the file is done outputting you will have the option to write to DVD, put in a blank disc and burn.
