I have a video that is .avi im pretty sure and i cant plat it in windows media player its saying: (Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file) So im guessin i have to change from .avi .    I checked windows media help and it says:

videos can be played with .wav and .avi  and these .asf, .asx, .wax, .wm, .wma, .wmd, .wmp, .wmv, .wmx, .wpl, and .wvx and probly more i jsut cant figure out why its not playing?? someone help plz  Huh

Hi,

You need to install a codec.

Instead of that, I suggest ffdshow (so that you don't have to find out which codec it is):
