Hey guys

I tried ripping a dvd yesterday, and everything worked out fine, except the fact that i didnt use the right settings, but i knew which settings to use so i just thought i do it tomorrow.

But now, when im about to open the disc in dvdshrink, i get this message:

"DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continoue.
Failed to read file "F:\"
Datafel (CRC-fel, Cyclic Redundancy Check)"

What is the problem?
I´ve tried to just watch the movie for 30 secs as some say you should, but the program just wont answer meaning i cannot watch it.
I´ve tried several programs. All just freezes.
I would be really thankfu l for some help as thisis probably the nr.1 DVD-guide site on the net :]

oh, and i have tried the disc in my dvdplayer, which works!

Hello ..

Try another DVD to see if it plays on your computer, if it does load the DVD in question in again and give it a try. If it doesnt work, do clean your DVD drive and DVD disc.

I suspect it could be a dirty / scratch disc which is causing it.

Actually, right after me making this topic, i tried putting in my LOTR dvd which ofcourse worked.
So i assume its just the disc that were dusty whatever.

And i bet i know why.
I just let the dvd lay on my computer table, without the box or anything.
Thankfully, it was a rented DVD :]

But now i know to next time what to do if this message occur, so thanks.

/Alex
