Has anyone run into this before? I am creating an avi file from a DVD using dvdx and everything looks fine. When it is finished I end up with a 2.97 gig file that windows media player can't open?? Other movies I have ripped with all the same settings worked fine. Wierd! My divx codec updated before I tried this one and I now have divx 6.1 codec.  I am about ready to give up on this one. If this rings a bell with anyone let me know. Or if you need more details.

Thanks for your time.

Maybe its codec related. I strongly suggest using XviD:

Yes, I will give Xvid a try and see if it makes a difference. Hopefully it will. I wonder why using a different codec would change things?
Yep I have the guide printed out already and use it.
Thanks.

The concept is the same, but the options windows are different. Have a look in the guide for more info.  Smiley
