All of a sudden, my encoding - normally using the auto setting - is rendering files that are 16kb as opposed to the normal 700mb.  They're also unusable, i.e. not just tiny avi files.

Sorry I don't have a lot more info.  Is there a recent codec upgrade that has cause such behavior?  Does this with divx or xvid.

Did you reopen a project already lying on your HD ?

If so, a workaround I found last night is to delete any "chain" file and open your project again. Could you please confirm if this helps.

No, brand new projects.

Anything I can give you specifics on - please let me know - settings, etc.  But again, I haven't changed anything, so unless I'm going nuts and doing something different....but I don't think so.

May I supply some screen shots?  I'm using "full auto mode".

Here's my log file (sorry it's in 4 parts):

Use the .txt

I have come up with the same exact error. I tried to encode in automatic mode (as i don't know a word for these things) The Rock (Nicholas Cage and Sean Connery) in Spain and the result after two times is the same, a 14 Kb avi file that doesn'r do anything Cry

How can make it work?

Attached is my log file in .txt

How do I attache?  Every time I try, it says it the wrong kind of file - I guess it's a "log" file not txt - the one I have.  Never mind - I cut and pasted into a new txt file.

Did it!

Yes, and I'm not sure why it stopped working all of a sudden.

Looks like we're out of luck.?

You use the light or full edition - I paid for this problem.  I do love the program - when it works.

Was gonna give us a bump, but we're pretty close to the top.  Must be others with this problem, and I'd assume we must have updated something similar codec wise or something.

Wish we'd get some response....

Ok, feel like a bump's in order as there's been a bit of a change - I can get a normal 700 (699) mb file if I don't use full auto mode.  Though, seems like the a/v sync's a bit funky.
