I did a search and didn't find anything on this.  Some info:  I'm running WinXP and I'm using WinAVI 6.2 full version (couldn't find 6.3 and read that 7.0 has too many bugs).   I'm running Quicktime 7.0 and Realplayer 10 so all of the codecs are current.

I have a raw AVI file (ex: 1hr show is approx 720MB, 2hr movie is approx 1.3GB) that I copied from my DVR and it plays fine on the computer and shows the small DIVX logo on the bottom corner when playing for the first few seconds.  I was trying to convert the file into DVD format so that I could burn it to a DVD-R disc with Nero 6 (which I already do with DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink for regular DVD discs).  Also, when I try the same AVI file or another one with DivXToDVD 0.5.2, it converts just fine and burns just fine.  However, it doesn't play in either of my 2 stand-alone DVD players, but plays in my laptop and desktop DVD drive on WinDVD.

I followed all of the instructions on what settings to put the options to when converting from AVI to DVD and everytime I press the convert buttton, I'm receiving this error message right away....

Is there something else that I need to do in order to make the AVI file convert?  Do I need to do something to the actual AVI file first?  Is the AVI file bad?

Thanks for any suggestions.

it means the output directory cannot include an underscore, ie, "\Output_dir\". change the output directory to a folder without an underscore in the name.
