Tried to convert an AVI-file to DVD. Does'nt work at all.
I am working in the aircraft industry, with safety-critical real-time systems. I know that thorough testing is essential. A program should ALWAYS work, not only most of the time or 'sometimes'.
If it does not ALWAYS work, don't release it.

Hi there,

What software are you using and what is the error you faced. Do note that not all the time it is the converting program. At times it could be codecs, windows files, AVI properties.

Trying to convert an AVI to DVD using DIKO. After about 1.5 hours I get a message "Error 19", "Pulldown failed. Enabling the 3:2 pulldown flag via pulldown.exe returned an error flag. You can configure DIKO to ignore this failure (sometimes it doesn't cause problems)".
The AVI file is perfectly playable with Media Player. The only thing I want is to convert it, and burn it to DVD so I can watch it on my DVD-player.
Actually, I think that he program - before it does anything more - first verifies that all preconditions for the conversion are satisfied and if not, informs the user and gives advice what to do to make the conversion work.
Also, the message "you can configure..." doesn't make me very happy. I wonder - How?

The problem is not that difficult to solve. I don’t know which converter you are using, but according to my experience, I usually manage it if I have trouble during the converting process by e-mail to support@nidesoft.com. They often offer good help. Since I have used their DVD ripper, it is quite easy for me to convert my DVDs. You may also e-mail your product’s server. If not solved, you may try http://www.nidesoft.com to see whether you can solve it.
