I was going into Fairuse Wizard to make a video file from a DVD rip I made with DVD Decrypter, when I realized to my dismay that for some reason instead of making the usual *.ISO file, Decypter made two files for the movie, with *.I00 and *.I01 at the end of them.

What the heck do I do with these files? How can I make them an ISO so that Fairuse Wizard can work with them?

Thanks!

Wow. Almost 40 people have read the thread and no one has any response. This really sucks. Sad

Hello there,

Sorry for the delay in response as it was a busy week, anyway i believe your problem is due to the fact that you are using fat32 on your HDD, hence the spilt in files, convert your system to NTFS and it will solve your problem

please refer to the article here http://www.digital-digest.com/articles/dvds_iso_mds_files_page1.html

That makes no sense. ALL of the other DVDs I have encoded from Decrypter have been ISO files. It was just this series of 3 discs that it randomly made into the I00/I01 files. And I no longer have the DVDs, so are you telling me that these I00/I01 files are useless to me? That I can do nothing with them?

What are the file sizes for your I00/I01 files?

my first thought was the fat32 issue as well. try opening the files with WinRAR and save the final ISO file to a second NTFS drive. I've heard that can work.

This is what happened to me, and what I did.

First off, the I00, I01, I02...etc files are pretty much the same thing as an iso file.

I used DVD shrink to save as image.  IF is saved it directly to my HD, it was saved as a iso, but when I saved it to my external HD directly from DVDshrink (I want to keep an actual copy on hand) it was saved as a I00, I01 style files.  I wanted an ISO version  on hand so if I need another back up after my daughter ruin all her copies for the DVD player in the minivan, I wouldnt' have to spend another 15-20 minutes re-encoding each disk again when I needed it.

Before I bought a dedicated External HD just for my DVD backups, I just saved the ISO image directly on to another DVD using NERO and saved it as a data file, NOT as an image file.  if you have alot of ISOs like i do, they eat up memory space fast.

I then opened the mds file with DVD decrypter (dvd shrink wouldn't let me open it for some reason).  I was able to burn the DVD in question just like I was using an iso file to do it.

Another option would be to use DVDshink to rip your DVDs for backup.  When you are ripping it, it gives you the options to copy directly, save as an iso, or save as a hard disk folder.  When you save as a hard disk folder, it saves it as a Audio_TS and a Video_TS file.

When you want to burn a backup and are using Nero, just use the option of saving as a data disk, copy the two TS file as data to your blank DVD, after you do that, it will play just like a normal dvd.

Hope this helps.
