Hello all,

Does anyone having problems trying to convert a XVID to DVD?
My PC locks up at around 10% with nero, at the same frame each time.
So I tried Cucusoft xvid to dvd and the same happens at also around 10-11%.

I have also tried converting the xvid to and mpeg1 which then locked at around 21%.

There is plenty of space for the file to be created on my drive.

system  :  Windows XP pro SP2

error  :  No error, just PC totally locks up

Thanks for your help, if you can..

Have you tried to play he xvid file on your pc to see if it ok?
Or i think you'd better install a k-like codec, and can try other converter,eg winavi, maybe it can help you more.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I can play the file fine on my PC. I have the K-Lite codecs installed also.

I tried Winavi, which worked 3 times and now that has decided to lock my PC also

HuhHuh  Puzzled isn't the word here.

But what's you surely meaning about "PC locks up"? It's shut off or stop?
Maybe you can email to support@winavi.com to have some suggestions. Good luck Wink

I mean i can't do anything other than press the button to shutdown. The pointer doesn't even move or should i say, didn't move.

In my quest to put this right by reinstalling Windows I decided to totally wipe all data from my drive using Eraser 5.7, and i now have no PC what so ever.  i now keep getting an error on install saying it needs to be turned off to prevent damage.

I noticed all my BIOS setting had been changed also.

PC's, who'd have one.......

Managed to get my PC back up and running, but all my previous serial numbers have been remebered so i'm guessing the XViD to DVD still won't work.

I'll try tonight....
