how do i put a Xvid video to a movie on dvd?

i'm a real newbie here and to putting movies onto dvd so any help will be really helpful, i've tried some programs that can do it but they need a lot of space and i only have discs that are 700mb, is there any program or any way of burning the film onto a 700mb disc?, any help will be greatly appreciated.

DVDs are 4.7GB, you are trying to burn to a CD.  Which means you must save to Video-CD format. This won't work on all DVD players.  Or burn as a data CD, which will again only work on special Divx players.  If you have Nero it can do this for you.  Or look through the guides for a Video or Super Video CD guide.

I just started downloading movies from torrent sites. Most I get are DVDrip's and I want to put them on a blank DVD to watch on my TV rather than my computer. Hopefully using Nero. Can you help? Thanks
