DVD Movies use the MPEG2 codec and DVD Players read that codec also. So if i were put MPEG2 on a CD then it would still play in a DVD player (correct me if I'm wrong) which means that if i was to use a DVD and put short clips of HIGH-DEF content in the right format (MPEG2 or AVC for the Blu-Rays) then i could still watch it on a Blu-Ray Player. My question is......am i right? And what program would i use if any to do this with menus(i create of course).

Unless you have a DVD player that can play data discs (like wmv files on a DVD or CD) this probably will not work. Although DVD-Video discs encode as mpeg2 they are written with different specifications for the disc and format.  If you do have a DVD player that can play data discs, this may work, but I'm not sure a regular DVD player could handle true high def video off a CD. It's may require too much processing power.

I don't know of any programs to burn in high def, I don't think Nero supports more than standard 780x480.

No i meant High-Def MPEG-2 (a couple minutes not a whole movie) on a DVD(4.7GB) to play on a Bluray Player not a DVD player.

right. So as long as the player can play data DVDs it will probably work. otherwise the formatting is probably still an issue.
