i converted an avi into a DVD using WinAvi 8.0 using "Constant Output File Size" and ConvertXtoDVD 2.2.2 using "High Quality/Slower Encoding" options. can you tell by the following pic which is the output by each app?







the answer is WinAvi 8.0 is the top pic which is sharper and clearer than the bottom pic. when i first noticed this, i was very surprised by it. i just thought i'd share my findings.

I've always used WinAVI and recently tried convertx. I noticed the quality difference on the first movie I converted. I thought I might have had some settings messed up somewhere, but I guess not. Good post.
