I wish to increase the audio level of the DVD movies before burning them in a fresh DVD. The volume of the movies which I wish to burn is very feeble.
 Please suggest to a newbie

Download VirtualDub, and you can increase the volume of a video file and resave it. then burn to DVD.

of course I don't know what format you are starting from. won't work for a DVD image or such.

if they were professionally mastered DVDs, perhaps you should check your sound card configuration.
