I believe that I found the cure! It's quite simple, indeed.

FairUse comes with an old version of VirtualDubMod. Well, this software was discontinued but the bundled version is not the latest one.

There is another version, 1.5.10.2, that should replace the FaisUse version. You must do this:

Go to C:\Program Files\FairUse Wizard 2\VDubMod and erase all files on that. Don't erase the folder itself.

Download the latest version of software here:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/virtualdubmod/VirtualDubMod_1_5_10_2_All_inclusive.zip?modtime=1125529938&big_mirror=0

Unpack the zip file on VDubMod folder and you are done!

Since I did this, everything is fine here. No more freezing problems.  Grin

Good luck!

One more information... Yesterday I received a message: "the muxing process failed" when FU ended the file writting.

I believe that the problem was "letters with accent". My language is Brazilian Portuguese and I use non-standard characters, not found in English, for example. Do not use characters with accent, like "á" or "ç", on file name and everything will work fine.

Good luck!

yeah when i had that problem it was because the external drive I specified to save to in fairuse wasn't connected, but using any character that windows doesn't allow for filenames would also cause it makes sense too.

That's a  fantastic solution cucamonga.

People should better pay you instead of the FU author cause only care about the perfect working of the registering/paying part if it.

Now, onto the next problem...... Why does FUW2.6 always boost audio ? (checked or unchecked, doesn't make a difference)

What's so wrong with the original audio on commercial DVD's for FUW to start screwing it by making the sound much too loud and thus completely distorted ?

That makes converting anything to anything using FUW worthless, completely worthless.  Angry

Armadan, I read your topic about this problem. I really don't know how to solve this because I never get this error. FU always converts audio correctly here. The boost option is necessary because original audio on DVDs is always too low and this option corrects the problem.

I wonder if your system have some unusual audio characteristics (external audio like Creative Audigy or something like that). Can you tell us your hardware in more details? Maybe we can help you.

You have already tried other convertion software like AutoGK, for example? Take a look that at http://www.autogk.me.uk

The software was discontinnued but it receive some minor adjustments. Recently a new version was lauched and a beta version too. Try the stable version and tell me if you get the same audio problem.

Good luck.

hm i thought this might fix the crashing problem during file write output (with v 2.6) but it didn't seem to help Sad

matt, you should install a new codec pack. It may work.

Uninstall your current codec package, restart your computer, install new video driver for your card and get the latest version of KL Codec Pack MEGA or FULL at http://www.codecguide.com and install it. Restart your computer and use FUW to do a new conversion.

If it doesn't it may be necessary reinstall your Windows. It may be an damaged dll file somewhere. I hope first option can resolve your problems.

Good luck.
