Hello there,

I am using SimpleDivx with Xvid and mkv container.  I want to rip a DVD to an AVI (or MKV) file with subtitles that I can enable or disable.

Generally, when I rip a dvd to AVI (or MKV) with VobSub, it makes three files:
-the movie (mkv)
-an IDX file
-and a sub file

I don't want to permanently embed the subtitles within the movie because then I can't turn them off.

How can I make it where I don't need the two extra files and still have the same ability to turn the subtitles on and off?

Is there a way I can embed EVERYTHING in one file like an AVI or an MKV file?  I still want the ability to turn subtitles on or off.

I use VLC media player to play my files.

Please let me know!
Thanks!
