I'm new to this forum & glad I found it since I haven't seen any other supporting Winavi. I've been reading on DVD Burning for quite awhile now(1/2year) & I finally got Me a burner(2weeks ago) it's a LH-16W1P DVD±RW & Im trying to learn to burn.
My question is :
Can Winavi transcode a DVD to AVI on the fly so to speak or does the DVD first need to be ran thru DVDDcrypter & the DVDDcrypted files saved localy.

The reason I ask is because if I load a DVD into My Liteon & launch Winavi_VIII then select Any-to-Avi & try to transcode the DVD that way I get an error & when I click OK I get another error http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q240/Xproject187/Cannottherendergraph.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q240/Xproject187/Failininitailizingthefile.jpg
I've even tried copying the image of the DVD over to My hard Disc & run it that way but still same errors.
So am I wrong in thinking that Winavi will do what I'm trying to get it to do or does ths DVD have to be Dycrypeted first
Thanx for any Help or Direction
~X~

When I post for help or direction in a forum & then accidently find the answer to the Issue myself, reguardless of how dumb it may make Me look I follow up with instructions as to what worked for Me.
In this case I was trying to take 1 of My DVD'S & convert it to AVI with Winavi .

After clicking on Winavi's Any2Avi Radio Button I would navigate to the folder where I had saved the Decrypted DVD files & select all the files (Bup's,Ifo's,AVI's) within it & hit convert of course Winavi would quickly throw up the errors I was seeing
Quote
"It was purely a mistake on My part"
Since Winavi clearly shows on it's Gui that it'll convert VOB's to AVI & I was selecting all the files (Vob's Ifo's & Bup's).
At any rate I was able to convert DVD to AVI in the manner below

I've found that if I only selct the Vob's & then select to convert,Winavi will indeed convert the DVD to AVI
Hope this helps the next guy who might see this error.

Thanx for the link Madison22 I'll check it out,but since I figured out how to convert DVD over to AVI with Winavi I will probably stick with it.
Besides Winavi converts so darn fast!
But thanx all the same.

I just got WinAVI 8.0 and am trying to convert some VOB's I copied to my PC (Win XPSP2) to AVI's so I can edit them on Adobe Premiere 6.0. The VOBs came from my Sony Mini DV camera. Problem is, WinAVI runs for a few seconds and locks up. Any ideas? All thoughts greatly appreciated.
