I have a lot of 700 mb avi files which i want to burn to dvd video..
i have also read about the conversion to video_ts.
But i want to know how many such files would fit in a 4.7 gb dvd AFTER CONVERSION?
Because the 700 mb becomes around 2 gb with all the vob files!!
Askin 4 too much, but is it possible to convert these files to dvd video at 700 mb itself??

The best program i recommend you to use is ConvertXtoDVD, like the name it can convert almost every video format into DVD include  DVD Packetized MPEG(.ifo .vob), DVB (Sat) Packetized MPEG(.m2ts .ps .ts), MOV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, TiVo, WMV, MP4, OGM, NSV, AVS, VC1, MKV, Flash(.FLV), Asf, Camcorder DV tapes, DivX, XviD, AVI, Dvr-mS, RAM, RMVB, RM and more..get it from http://www.dvd-to-ipod-converter.com/convert-to-dvd.html , it works perfect for me, well worth the money.

Encoding movies to DVD-Video format, which is set, requires them to adhere to the DVD video standards. This means you have to encode with mpeg2 at a specified resolution. So the length of the movie becomes the determining factor for how many movies fit on a disc, rather than how large the original file size is. You can fit maybe 4 hours on a single layer DVD in Long Play or Extra Long play modes, and the quality will poorer than the original file.

So it depends on the length of the videos. You may be able to fit three movies on one single layer disc but you'd pay with quality.
