Hi Guys,

i'm new to this, so please be gently !!

OS = winXP pro 32bit

using ConvertXtoDVD

i'm trying to convert an mkv file to DVD9, i think i have all the settings correct, no problems converting any other stuff, to watch the mkv file i have been using vlcPlayer

the problem i am getting is that during conversion i am getting multiple

"Error while decoding stream #0.0"

i think this is related to the audio, i dont want to let it go all the way through converting (6.56GB) and attempt to burn if the audio will be missing ?

can anyone help.

i will continue searching, but i'm a noobie at this, so i may miss the answer somewhere and not realise it, is it possible i dont have the required codec for the audio ?

Audio stream in ConvertXtoDVD is reporting as "[en] - liba52, 48000 Hz, 5.1"

TIA

Hi,

in answer to the problems you are having converting .mkv to DVD, this is a bug in ConvertXtoDVD.
You aren't doing anything incorrectly. A newer format .mkv file came out recently, and it is not being converted correctly. See:

club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=221935

and

forums.vso-software.fr/post8571.html

You can wait for vso to release a new version, and hopefully fix the issue, or you can demux/remux the .mkv files and then convert. Use Video Help www.videohelp.com and google for advice on how to do this.

As an aside, when it comes to internal subtitle files in either .mkv or .ogg, ConvertX cannot see them, so you need to rip and use them externally. Again look up demuxing for information how to do this.

Hope I answered you questions.
