Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but I would like to record TV programs(serials) and convert them to divx. Does anyone know of any software out there that will let me do it in the one instance, without having to record the TV program as a Mpeg file and then convert it to Divx. Huh

If not then what is the best way(program/application) to record the TV programs and convert them to divx. The program that came with my TV Tuner card allows me to automate the recording. And I would like to automate the conversion to Divx as well. Since I record the TV programs in the evening, I would like to automate the conversion, so that it can run during the night and be ready the next morning.

Thanks in advance for ANY help/advice I can receive.

Try AVS Video tool http://www.dvd-to-ipod-converter.com/avs-video-tools.html , AVS Video Tools is a 4-in-1 multimedia program which can convert video, rip and burn DVD. It can also split, join, remove commercials, edit, rotate, apply effects, capture, transfer, copy DVD and movie files! it's the best value software i've been purchased.

I don't have a tuner card so I don't know much about what's available for that, but if you can't convert it straight to divx when you record the shows, then I doubt you can automate recoding to divx afterwards. The closest thing to doing it automatically is batch converting all the shows you save at a later date.. but I've never heard of a program that will wait for a file to appear then convert it.

Good luck though! If you find let us know!
