Most of families or individuals have more than one iPod but probably only one computer. So we may be confused by how to manage several iPods with one computer. I searched and have some suggestions by now.

One: New User Accounts
People are so clever that they share their computers with friends to maintain separate user accounts on the computer for each. In this case, people could keep their own personalized iTunes libraries, and customize their iPods freely.
Do the following to set up additional user accounts:
1.   Click the Start Menu, and then click Control Panel.
2.   Open the User Accounts.
3.   Add new user accounts after the instructions.
If you can’t find it, you can look in your computer’s Help and Support to find out how to set up a new user account.

Two: Create iTunes Library
This method is a little bit confused at least for me. Create new iTunes Library for another iPod, which should be a very clever idea. If iTunes is open, close it and do what as follow:
1.   Holding Shift key while you open iTunes.
2.   Click Create Library in the pop-up dialog.
3.   Name the new library file and save it. Generally, iTunes opens with your latest library file.
4.   Open iTunes Preferences, click the Advanced tab and then click following General tab, deselect Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library checkbox if it is selected and click OK to avoid creating duplicate copies of your existing media files in the new library folder.
5.   Add your wanted media files to iTunes and sync iPod.
6.   Close opened iTunes, keep holding Shift key while reopening iTunes, and click Choose library.
Select and open your former iTunes Libray. In this way you can switch to different libraries for more iPods.

Three: Use iPod Management Software
As we know, iTunes designed by Apple only allows us to transfer media files to iPods, but reverse direction cannot be accessed. There is a way to make it easy and to manage more than one iPod on one computer.

Xilisoft Corporation has released a new tool to manage iPod data,  Xilisoft iPod Rip lets you directly copy all the music and movies in your computer, that supported by iPod including AAC, MP3, AIF, M4A, M4V, MP4, MOV and WAV etc, to your iPod. Besides, you can copy all your music, movies, podcast, and TV shows from your iPod directly to your computer; also, all music and video shows can be directly added to your local iTunes Library, say, you can directly move files out of the iPod the same way you put them in.

The most important thing is that Xilisoft iPod Rip can support multiple iPods. You can manage all your iPods in your family with only one computer simultaneously. Xilisoft iPod Rip has the feature of editing playlists of iPods. You can create, rename and delete a playlist in your iPod.

there's also Mac software Xilisoft iPod Rip for Mac that can copy and transfer your music and movies from computer to iPod, from iPod to Apple, from iPod to iTunes; to add, edit and delete a new playlist for iPods,
and delete all you have abandoned from iPods. Also use multiple iPods at the same time, supporting all kinds of ipods:
Video iPod
iPod Nano
iPod Mini
iPod 4G
iPod Nano 3
iPod Classic
iPod Touch
