I would appreciate any help with playing the avi video (converted from DVD using Fairuse wizard 2) in Windows Media Player 11 (Vista).

I am trying it out on my daughter's brand new laptop, but all I get is sound. What I see is only the visualization as though I was playing audio files. Where as using my older laptop, (not WIN Vista,) have absolutely no problem viewing the ripped videos in WMP 11. Anyone else experience this, if so, how did you resolve this problem? Thank you.

Esther.

r u sure the video is in avi and not divx?  What it sounds like is you don't have the correct codec on that machine to play the file.  If it's divx, try divx.com and get the codec installed no your machine.

Try downloading a trial version of nero 8 or something else as well to see if it plays it.
