hello,

I have a problem with transfering video from my Sony miniDV Camcoders (I used two different ones) via Firewire port to my PC's. During the preview (even before video is saved on the hard drive the quality is not good. It looks jerky and not smooth especially for scenes with fast movements.

If I save the video and review later the quality is the same.

If I  deactive preview, I see the same quality during the palyback after it was saved to HD.

I tried Windows Movie Maker and Nero 4. The problem is the same.

However simply watching video on TV via S-Video or RCA cables I do not have that problem. Also no such problem if I record to VHS tape.

I tried to optimize my computers as I could. HD defragmetation, closed all running programs. disconnected from the internet, etc, reduced monitor video resolution to 16 bit, etc.

The computers I used are:

1) Toshiba Sattelite P35entium 4, 3.2 Mhz, WinXP SP2, 512Mb RAM,
2) Pentium, with Intel Celeron D, 3.47Mhz, 1Gb RAM, 7200 RPM West Dig HD.

What can be the problem?

Thanks
