I'e had an ongoing problem burning DVDs to play on my home theatre DVD player.  I'm burning movies using DVD Shrink.  I use AnyDVD to eliminate the previews and any decoding problems.  The burned copies seem to deteriorate after a few playings.  It seems they play good the first time or two, but tend to stall occasionally after playing a few times.  Eventually they don't work at all.  (Yes, I do keep them very clean.) I'm using Sony DVD+R disks, with a Sony AW-Q170A burner.  My computer is an Athlon XP1800+ 1.53 Ghz, 2.25 Gig of ram, Windows XP Pro with SP-2.  I was blaming my DVD player, but I got a new one for X-mas, one with an upconverter, and I'm experiencing the same problems.  These playback problems are also present if I try to play them on my PC.  My question is, what areas should I look for problems?  Could it be the brand of disks I'm buying? I usually go for a sale item, but maybe that's not the best idea.  Or is DVD Shrink a bit unstable and there's a better program out there?  I don't think I have a hardware problem, but I don't know for sure.  I was thinking of investing in a dual layer burner and dual disks, and then there would be no need for any 'shrinkage' of the movie.  Any ideas?
