Hi, I just started using WinAVI converter to convert some avi file into mp4 so i can watch them on my PS3.  But I noticed the problem with resolution.  As soon as the file is converted into mp4, the video quality drop so much that it's almost unbearable(it's look bad enough on PC screen, let along the HDTV).  I played with the advance setting, setting it to smooth the video and picture size but nothing seems to help much.  One thing i noticed is that the converted mp4 file is always less than 1/2 of the original avi size( 1gb -> 400mb or so).  Please need some help!
