with every dvd i try and rip with fairuse, it always says access denied. can anyone help?

My only guess is that you are doing a DVD that has copy protection and FU will not process that type of DVD.  Assuming you are not having a problem with your DVD-ROM.

For everyone who might encounter this issue : this happens if the selected path is the DVD drive itself. On the first screen you should select a folder on your hard drive. The DVD drive selection comes on the next step.
