hi any ideas on this query,while transcoding a downloaded avi file the encoding bar on the top row stopped, ie the clock for current progress.i am using nero vision express 2 SE. This has happened a couple of times and i dumped the file thinking it was no good.However all seemed to play   ok on my computer. :? what does the bbcode mean as i\'m new to this site and the whole making/down loading dvd thing.

Maybe the files have problems. Sometimes problems that are not obvious in the playback.

I suggest you try another program, or try to use a fixing programs like video fixer.

Thanks for quick reply. When you say try another program do you mean other than nero if so any suggestions, as i only use this as it came bundled with my recorder.Also where can i get video fixer.Cheers.

Try loading the file in VirtuaDub and Save As to a new file.

This way the errors may be left in the old file.
