Hi

I am trying to encode one DVD using DVDx 2.2 and it\'s taking ages to complete . taking 23 hours just for one DVD to complete. am i doing something wrong or does it suppose to happen this way. please let me know any tips if you have any.

Are you using DivX? You may want to select Standard in Speed/Quality bar, it is going to improve the speed a lot.

Yes,Agreed.Just set it to Standard in Speed/Quality.Don\'t up it any more.You wont see a diffrence.At Standard in Speed,you can encode a 3-hour DVD in about 5 hours.

where excatly am i suppose to set this standard. i can\'t find it anywhere

actually first it took 23 hours to encode a movies so i was a bit worried that if it\'s going to take 23 hours then oooh my lord.. Tongue

I\'d be when you get to the 1st pass settings,the 2ed opt down,you can mess with the rez settings.

What speed is your processor?  If you have an older computer like P1 or P2 then I can see you taking this long as well.  The faster the processor the faster your going to encode a file.

It only takes me two hours or less to encode a full file.  So from this to 23 hours, I think it\'s the processor speed.  Don\'t know 23 hours, I would just pull the plug and say the H??? with it.  LOL
