Enjoy Your iPod with More Videos: from Youtube, DVDs, and Movie Maker
As being one of the best portable video and audio players in the world, iPod player liberates us from chains of watching movies on a portable DVD player with lots of DVD discs bringing out and become more and more important in our daily life. IPod player support video formats as well as audio formats, as a result, we can enjoy both movies and music on our iPod player. Then the question of how to download movies and music into our iPod player appeared. Step 1: you should download the free video from YouTube on your PC.
There are several websites for you to download free video on line such as YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo. Today, we take YouTube video for example.
1. Open the website:

2. Go to the YouTube website:
http://www.YouTube.com. Find the video you like, click “more share options”, the link will show out, copy the link under the video. Or, you can just copy the link in the IE line. Like this link in the red box:

3. Paste the link in the box on the website:

4. Click the button “Get Video” next to the box and download the video in flv formats in your computer.
Note: to download the video in flv format, you should rename the file by add “.flv”.
Well, have downloaded your video in your PC, now continue with step 2.
Step 2: convert the video into your iPod player.

Step 1: you may download the Nidesoft DVD to iPod Converter and load DVD movies first.

Step 2: you may customize the output video with its full functions.
Audio Track: Select an audio track from the available audio tracks of your DVD movie.
Subtitle: Common DVD movies have several subtitles such as English, Chinese, French, etc. You can choose one language you prefer or select “None” to delete subtitle.
Profile: Click the button and show the list of profiles, you can select the profiles you want. For example, if you want to convert your DVD movies to your iPod video player, click the “iPod video MPEG-4 (*.mp4)”.
Note: you can choose the profile according to your player. For example, if you want to rip DVD movies to iPod Nano, select iPod Nano MPEG-4 (*.mp4) which is the most suitable.
Settings: If you want to customize the output video’s quality, you can click the settings button to open the settings window and set video resolution, video bitrate, audio channels, audio bitrate
Destination: Click the browse button and select a location on your computer for the output video files.
Step 3: now you can start your conversion.
After the settings finished, you can just click the convert button to start the conversion. You can view the conversion speed at the bottom. The conversion will be completed in few minutes.
You can also edit your output video by your own, several tips are shared below to let you make the perfect video.
Tips 1: A regular DVD movie has several chapters, you can convert several chapters into one by click the blank box before merge into one file. Click the check box before any chapter you want and merge them into one file.
Tips 2: you can cut off the black edges of the DVD movie to watch in full screen by click the crop button. A window will be opened and you can customize the size of screen by your will.
Tips 3: Click the Effect button you can set special effect including gray effect and negative effect.
You can also set the brightness, contrast, saturation and volume.
Tips 4: as you have selected the clips to convert, you can trim any segment of the clips
by clicking the trim button. You can move the slide below the screen or set the start
time and end time to trim any segment.
Way Ⅲ: to edit your video with Windows Movie Maker and transfer it to your iPod player.
Step 1: edit your movies by Windows Movie Maker
Windows Movie Maker is a useful software program that comes already installed in all Windows XP computers. It is an easy to use video editing program that brings great convenience for you to edit your video. Before the edition, you should pay attention to your movie format. As Windows Movie Maker only supports AVI, WMV and MPEG format, you may convert your movie to those formats by Nidesoft Video Converter if necessary.
You could edit your movie in several ways listed below.
Adding Music and Sounds in Windows Movie Maker
1. Click Import audio or music under the Capture Video.
2. Add your audio file.
3. Select the audio file you want to add.
4. Change the timeline view to Storyboard View by clicking the Show Storyboard link.
5. In the Storyboard view, you may see the audio and music line, drag the audio file to this line.
6. you can trim the length of your music according to the length of your movie by dragging the right edge of the song. In this way can keep your music and movie ends at the same time.
Now you have added your music and sounds to your movie, you can preview it in the preview window on the right.
Add Video Transitions and Video Effects in Windows Movie Maker
1. Open your Windows Movie Maker project file. If your Movie Maker opens in Timeline view, you should return to Storyboard view by clicking the Show Storyboard link.
2. View your Movie Tasks, under the Edit Movie link, select View video transitions
3. Add the Video Transition
Select a transition effect you want and drag it to the Storyboard between two pictures.
Note: you could apply video transitions to all pictures by dragging transitions between each picture. You may use the same transition for all pictures or choose different transitions by your will.
4. Add Video Effects
Click View video effects under the Edit Movie section then you may see several effects, choose one and drag it to the picture below. You may preview your movies to see the effects.
Adding Titles and Credits in Windows Movie Maker
1. Click the Edit Movie section and you will see Make titles or credits, choose it.
2. Choose a Place
You may have several choices of where to add a title. Choose a place for your title.
3. Enter Words of Your Title for the Movie
Enter your movie title and a subtitle in the blank box according to your desire.
You may also change the title animation and the font and colors of the title page by clicking more options.
After done those you can preview your movie in the preview window on the right.
If you are satisfied with the changes, click on Done, add title to movie
4. Add Closing Credits in Movie in Windows Movie Maker
Do the same way as adding a title, but instead, choose to add credits to your movie. You can also change the title animation and the font and colors of your credit page. Don’t forget to save the project.
5. Save the Movie Maker Project and the Movie File
Now your movie is complete, you’d better save the project in two different formats. One is saving the project in MSWMM format and another one is saving the movie in WMV format.
Tips: The movie project of MSWMM format is the working file so that you may continue to edit your video next time until you have a final version of your work. It can’t be used as a video file. The movie file of WMV format is the final output of your movie. Windows Movie Maker compresses all the parts of your movie into a single unit. The file size is much smaller and can be used. It can’t be edited.
Have finished the edition of your video, then you can transfer it to your iPod player. As iPod player supports MP4 format, you need to convert the WMV format to MP4 format by Nidesoft video converter.
