I've just built a new computer with an Intel Quad core (Q9300) processor, ASUS RAMPAGE FORMULA motherboard, SAPPHIRE 100225L vid card, 2GB DDR2 ram, and Windows XP 32-bit (I'm not a fan of Vista)

I downloaded and installed the latest version of Fair Use Wizard 2.8 LE and tried to rip a DVD ISO to a 700mb Xvid file (all default settings). The result at the end was a 107mb file with only the audio, and I can see the video-stream file that was created is only 3-4mb. When setting up the rip, the video shows correctly, and I can watch DVDs (and their ISOs) correctly with VLC and PowerDVD.

I've never had this sort of problem in any of my single core/processor machines and I would be happy to pay for the full version of Fair Use Wizard if that will fix my problem.

Please DO NOT get the full version in the hope to fix this issue. Let's fix the problem first, then you'll be free to get the full version or not.

Actually, I went to recreate this problem and instead had a working 700mb audio + video output file.

Here are the steps I went through in case someone has a similar problem and finds this post:
new PC with fresh XP install
installed VLC and Fair Use Wizard 2.8 LE (no other video or audio codecs)
DVD ISO rip failed
un-installed 2.8LE and installed an old copy of 2.4 I had.
DVD ISO rip failed
installed xvid 1.1.3 codec
DVD ISO rip failed
Tried Handbrake, which worked, but I didn't like as much
un-installed 2.4 and re-installed 2.8LE
DVD ISO rip worked

I'm guessing there was a problem between my machine and the built in xvid codec. The codec I installed independently (or maybe a version in Handbrake) fixed the problem when I installed Fair Use Wizard 2.8LE after they were already installed.

If the several test rips I'm setting up for tonight work well, then I plan to buy the full version. Thanks for such a quick response to my bug post.

I found the real problem I was having.

My ASUS motherboard came with a program to adjust the clock speed (AI Gear 3), and I had slightly under-clocked it to save power while I wasn't doing anything very processor intensive. But I forgot to set this back to normal before trying to rip for the first time.

So my bizarre output issue is really just a problem with underclocking or this specific processor management software.
