I have encountered and error while trying to back up one of my DVD\'s when i click on the open disk i am presented with this error message

DVD Shrink encountered and error and cannot continue.]
Failed to read file \"D:\\\"

I have tried playing the disk before attempting to open it in DVD Shrink but even though it plays fine it does not seem to help.

The disk plays on both my pc and my dvd player and isnt damaged in anyway that is visible.

If you could help i would be most appreciative.

Thanx

Does this occur during the analysis or actual encoding?

I know this sounds strange because you can play the movie but not copy it, but it often has to do with the disc condition or drive.  The disc may be dirty or scratched.  If it\'s a clean disc then using another drive to read will often solve the problem.  My HP is like this.  It will play some movies but will not rip them.  I stick it in another drive and the movie rips fine.
