Im Converting avi files for dvds. I must have done 10 + of the same file type and its worked fine, until the last couple which the video has froze at a certain point in the process, but the audio has continued until the end. The file is of the size that would have been converted with the video still intact. Im using TMPGEnc Plus 2.59.

Hi,

I\'m afraid I need some more info, about the type of the files, if other ones work, if you did something that you think that have may caused that problem etc.

Well its obviously a problem with bad frames, but VirtualDub cant detect them, so im stuck now. Someone mentioned to me that it might be a good idea to uncompress the file then try checking for errors, but im unsure of how to do this and get the file back into its current form.

Ive also tried converting in other programs (MainConcept) buit the same problems occured.

Could you recommend anything else.

File     :  284 MB (284 MB),  duration: 0:42:16,  type: AVI,  1 audio stream(s),  quality: 44 %
Video :  245 MB,  813 Kbps,  25.0 fps,  512*384 (4:3),  DX50 = DivXNetworks Divx v5,    Supported
Audio :  38 MB,  126 Kbps,  48000 Hz,  2 channels,  0x55 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 3 (MP3),    Supported

EDIT: All other files have worked using TMPGEnc since, i have \"reaquired\" these files, but with the same problem so its was a problem with the initial rip i think (although i cant find ppl with the same problem :/ ).

Actually it looks like a bad frames problem. This small utility has helped me with that problems before, have a look and let\'s hope it\'s that simple:
