I used a min-dv (.vcd) to record from a VHS tape and used TMPEGEnc to convert to MPEGII and then to DVD,  it plays fine on DVD but there is no audio. I went to look for the audio file but I couldnt find it...this is the first time Ive tried this and must have missed something....any help would be appreciated...

Hi,
is there sound in the mpg file that TMPEGEnc creates and not in the DVD files that TMPEGEnc DVD Author creates or the problem is at TMPEGEnc?

Yes, I didnt see any audio files so Im wondering if I need to encode the files (all I saw was the MPEG file) So I thinkits with the DVD authoring but since this is my first time Im have no idea. The DVD worked on my home DVD player and loked ok but no sound...

Before you author the DVD, the mpg file that you create with TMPEGEnc has sound?

Im using TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator, I converted divx to mpeg and I had two mpeg files, neither of which will play on my pc. I used Ifoedit to create .vob and bup. files, and i burnt them to dvd using nero6 burning rom following the instructions in \"alfonic dvd guides\" the finished dvd will play, the picture quality is excellent but there is absolutly no sound.

I tried to follow the afonic guide in using tmpgenc http://www.dvd-guides.com/guides.php?category=othertodvd&name=tmpegenc[/url]
but the screen shots on this guide differ to the screens I see when using the software, Step 1 in the guide matches the sreen I get at the start, step 5 screen shot alos matches, the step 7 screen shot is very similar but steps 2,3 and 4 are different.

Im using version 2.0 so prehaps the guide is for a different version.

Im currently tring to convert a divx file but this time im going to create a single mpeg instead of 2, after following the guide as best I could. I will check the mpeg when its finished to see if It can play on my pc and if it has sound, then I\'ll convert it into VOb and BUp files and burn it to dvd.

As I said I used IfoEdit to create the VOB and BUP files before, should I be doing this? Is there a better way?

I had problems using IfoEdit to begin with which is why I had to create 2 seperate mpg files, one for video and one for sound, prehaps this is where I went wrong.

I will let you know how I get on sing this new method and if anyone can post me some good advice I will be vrey happy.
