I have made several DVD movies that will play in a Emerson EWD 2003 I have.
I bought a newer Emerson and about 1/2 of the movies will hang up at points in the movie. I can simply wait and the movie will resume. I tried the movies that \"stick\" on a friend\'s Phillips and the same thing happens at the same spots- they \"pause\". I was told to use RitekG04 DVD-R discs but this did not help. aNY SUGSTIONS.

Well I guess that all these movies work OK in your PC.

Probably the problem is media, have a look at http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers and see what media (brand and type) suits your new DVD player.

Sorry-the DVD\'s will play on my pc fine. Have used DVD-R\'s and initially DVDs+R along with various brands. What really stumps me is that some movies will play fine and some won\'t. I wonder if it could be in the
IFO files. Something is stopping a smooth transition.

Well these \"sometimes work and sometimes not\" problems are difficult to be solved! Can you think of something that might make these DVD not work right, maybe something common between the ones that have the problem, like region, resolution, video system, etc.

I use Express, Ripper, Shrink and then Nero to make backups. Maybe Shrink could be the problem. Dunno-

Afonic-
Was reading in other forums and looks like you addressed this problem in DVD Shrink-\"Pauses with Shrink 3.1\" -
