Hello Experts...

I\'m trying to back up my Dvd collection so I\'ve gone out and bought Dr.Divx.. The program is great except I\'d like to keep the Ac3 audio track instead of decoding it to Mp3 does Dr.Divx allow or have a plugin that will keep the audio file as is....

Please advise me.....

Thank-you
Archie

You cannot do that using Dr.DivX.

I suggest you use this guide:
http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/divx__ac3.htm

You may also use DVDx, if you want tell me to get you instructions.

Well you can create a Video with no sound with Dr.DivX and then demux the AC3 another way, but no, you cannot do it ONLY with Dr.DivX.

Agreed, You can convert the mp3 to Ac3 with http://www.divx-digest.com/software/avi-mux_gui.html  and then use a program like Virtualdub Mod to merge them together, I think Ac3 is supported with Virtualdub.  Little more work though.

I know all about using VirtualDub and muxing the audio into a video file
But as my experiance has shown that a 50/50 thing mostly audio sync problems. Its really too bad that Dr.Divx can\'t do it. I now feel kind of ripped off. But hey I\'ll get over it. I do think though that the makers should make it more clear that they do not support AC3 audio.

Anyway thanks again guys...
