Hi. I\'m so frustrated now. Every time I try to convert a divx to mpeg 1 or 2 I get a read error.  I have converted many of them in the past. But  now nothing will work. I\'ve tried about six different divx movies.  They play just fine.  I have avi codec installed, divx 5.1.1 installed but TMPGEnc will not read any of them.  Please help me before I throw my puter through the damn window  :?

Can you think of something that may have caused this? Like an installation of a program or a driver?

I\'m not sure. I install and uninstall a lot of stuff.  I also ran RegCleaner a few times.   But I uninstalled and re-installed  TMPGEnc  also  I re-installed AVI codec and divx 5.1.1 codec.  I moved direct show to the top of the list. Still get the Read error when I try to convert.  I\'m stumped  :?
 I\'m about ready to start over re-installing Windows XP.

I am not sure that this is going to help!

The truth is that I don\'t know where the problem is. It could be in TMPEGEnc or at the codec. You are sure that the movies are fine? Have you tried someones that you have tried before?
Make sure you unistall all codecs first (all of them, even XviD or whatever) and then install a codec like DivX 4.12 or 5.1.1 Pro.
