After many trials and problems i managed, thanks to the help of this site and TMPGEnc to convert a dowloaded Divx file movie into a burnable DVD file .
The movie played alright but ....no sound Why ? .any help to this newbie would be appreciated  :roll:

Have you burned the burnable DVD file?  Cheesy

Preview of DVD files that are in your hard disk, may have trouble like no sound.

thanks for your reply ,How do i know what is a burnable dvd file .Sorry if this is a bit amateurish but i am a total newbie so bear with me ,When i used TMPGEnc to convert the divx file should the result have shown as a completely new and seperate file or would the folder show the same file .
 Also can you tell me which type of files are the best to download ,avi,divx etc etc and what sites are best ,
I know this is long winded but we all start somewhere .

After you encode the file to MPEG2 with TMPEGEnc you need to author it so that you get the DVD files.

You should not download any movie files as it is illegal.
