I am using DVDx to copy a NTSC DVD.  I set it up to do SVCD.  It creates the required mpg file.  I then use Nero 6.0 to burn.  I select the nero svcd option.  Nero then does some lengthy conversion on the file (i do not know why) and writes the CD-r.

I played the SVCD on a GE DVD player.  The video is fine, but there is no sound at all....nothing.

What should I do?  What are the steps to troubleshoot, or what would the common problem be?

Thanks all.

Well probably this conversion Nero does creates that problem.

If it does that it means that the mpg file is not SVCD ready. Are you sure you have done everything allright in DVDx? Does the mpg files DVDx creates have sound?
