I need suggestions on how to create a single DVD disc from two simple DVDS (with menus).

Disc One: exercise video 20 minites long
Disc Two: exercise video 40 minites long

Lets assume that both video will fit on to one DVD.
I want to have a finished product (one disc), that when inserted will give you two choices.  Watch the 20 minite video or the 40 minite video.  In a perfect world, when you go to the next menu you will get full menus for each exercise video.

Thanks for your thoughts.   If you want to send a simple (short version idea) I will contact you for more details...

I\'d RiP boath parts to your pc,then brun them as one. There are a few apps listed on the main page; www.dvd-guides.com
As for the slecting,Hummm.I guess Nero Recode 2 would be your best choice.Any thing more and you\'d have to spen upwards of $50.00 for some DVD Pro Maker App.

Thanks for your thoughts.

What troubles me is how do you \"author\" (which tool, lets not get hung up on $$$) using VOB (video objects) that you have ripped to your harddrive.

I would still like to create a menu structure that leads to the VOB\'s.

The \"re-author\" mode in DVD shrink will allow you to put all the \"VOBS\" on one disk but does not allow for menus.

My next thought would be to convert the VOB to AVI or MPeg.  I do not want to lose quality... and then author with a program like DVDit! authoring....

anybody else have any thoughts.... also could you give the specific name of the programs that you would use... thanks in advance.

Well for the converting,If you want, you could convert to DivX5.1.1 or XviD4 useing DVDx as your converter, thats what I use.I do not own a DVD-RW,So I RiP the DVD to a VOB useing DVD Decripter, then so that I can brun it on to a CD,I open DVDx and Convert to DivX5.1.1
When I FanSubb\"see http://www.nuclearion.com\"I get the DivX file and ReConvert it to XivD because DivX will not surpoart subbing.

You get that.Humm.Let me make a photo guide.Ok.I think this might help;

Usually in a case like this, I would just rip the DVDs and rebuild a new one with my DVD creation software. Most DVD-Rs come with software to build a dvd and it\'s menus. Did yours?

The only authoring tool I own is DVDit! by sonic.  What do you use?  could you list the process you would use and the software ... simuliar to the \"Tank\" as above...  I am going to try the above method but I would really be interested in your solution...   If the software I need works,  I will get it....

Hey \"Tank\" ... thanks for you input... I really enjoyed the link and will be using the downloads found there...  I have already learned a ton just chasing this project.... as an aside: I have a small group of friends who are all budding DVD creators and we are all learning at the same time... thanks again.

Try using Sony\'s MyDVD to create the new menu and placing it into the files then use Nero 6 to burn

In my opinion, the absolute easiest and best way to do this is to use the best DVD Author program out there, with the funniest name on the planet:

TMPGEnc DVD Author   (look for it on the net or through this site)

With that program, you can load 1, 2, 3 or any number of vob\'s or DVD\'s you want, then put them in any order you want, remove what you want, then easily create menu\'s that point to what you want, then click-n-save to a HDD or DVD.  It does a beautiful job.  It even does motion-menu\'s.

It\'s looks intimidating when you first start it up, but it\'s extremely simple once you get the hang of the \'author\' mode.

Good luck!
