How to convert VCD/SVCD To DVD using TMPGEnc  guide

I want to put my svcd onto a dvd
i used tmpgenc to get my movie mpg file
the problem is when i used TMPGEnc DVD Author i quickly found that i only had one of the svcd my movie was only 59 mins long

In step 3 of the How to convert VCD/SVCD To DVD using TMPGEnc

i have 2 dat files then when it comes to step 6 you are only asked to select one file is this correct  :?:  :?:

I think this is where i went wrong

How do you get both files converted

Hi Holts. i
It sounds like you have the same prob i had. I guess you actually have 3 dat files to make up the movie you wish to convert. I had 3 .avi files to make up one movie mpg. You have to join the 3 files together to make one before you start your conversion. I used a freeware prog called \'VIRTUALDUB\'. There is a guide on Afonic that shows you how to use it and it includes a link to download the prog from. Hope this solves your problem.

Steps 2-4 in the guide show how to get both files selected.
Here\'s a post you should also need:

holts, VirtualDub works only for AVI files, not with VCD which is MPEG.

thanks for the replys but i am still having problems

Let me start from the begining

I started out with a svcd called mona lisa smile its on 2 cd s and i want to watch it on 1, i have yet to put it on to cd so i have only previewed it on daemon tools
When i mount it into daemon tools and look for the file the first thing i  find is that its called MPEG2 this is different to the guide How to convert VCD/SVCD To DVD using TMPGEnc  in the guide it is MPEGAV
Inside my MPEG2 file there is a AVSEQ01.MPG which is different again because the guide uses .dat files
So i copied both of my AVSEQ01.MPG files from each cd into a folder on my hard drive and renamed them video01.MPG and video02.MPG
in the guide it says you can use MPG files so i just left them the way they are right so now i am at step 3 ready to start tmpecnc plus, i do every thing it says in step 4 and step 5 then in step 6 where it says select your files, when i select my video01.MPG i get a error message saying

File\"c:\\my destanation folder \\video01.MPG\"can not open,or unsupported

I got round this by using vcdgear to convert my cue\\bin files from cd1 and cd2  into  Dat files, then copying them into a folder on my hard drive,

then at step 6 it worked okay but then i found at step 8 i only had 59m minutes of video which i explained in my first thread

Please help this is doing my head in
I thought this would take a couple of hours it has now been a couple of days in between work!!!!
