The guides say that CloneDVD does not copy protected movies. I have this (overpriced!) software, and have used it to copy several movies which I am sure are protected. (LoTR 1 and 2, for example).

Perhaps the guides are out of date?
Perhaps these movies are not protected?

Any ideas?

Ah ha! I didn\'t realize that there were two different products with the same name; CloneDVD. I obtained mine from:

and the price was US$100--about double the price of the other.

I don\'t mind paying $100 for good software--and this CloneDVD is good--that also has support available--and this company provides ZERO support! Not even one of those automated responders.

But, thanks for the clarification; I was quite confused. You (the expert) say it won\'t copy protected DVDs and me (the novice) actually copying what I am sure are protected movies.
