i have just installed an LG GSA-4081B dvd rewriter,i am running windows xp with 512 ram and 80gb hard drive and using packard bell dvd+rw blank discs,when trying to copy the read process goes ok,but when writing it gets to about 80% or 24 out of 28 chapters and comes up with a write error (write dvd 9 or hardware error 2305 ) i am using dvd x copy xpress but had the same problem with a trial version of clone dvd i am also using dvd region free thanks to anyone who can help a novice

thank you ,will try dvd shrink,have successfully copied cds with this rewriter,and it copies about 80% of a dvd and the 80% is ok and watchable with no noticable loss,not sure how to go about updating drivers and stuff.

             amd athlon xp 1800+cpu,512mb pc2100ram,80gb hard drive ide,64mb geforce 4ti 4200 tv/dvi graphics.   ps is dvd shrink only useable with nero?

hi ,installed driver as suggested ,and then tried dvd shrink,got to 83%,then failed ,amongst a long log file was,SENSE KEY :0X04(KEY HARDWARE ERROR),also,TRANSFER-24FILE WRITER STATUS.CPP,LINE 164,COULD NOT PERFORM END OF DISC-AT -ONCE.
           then went on to say \"output files were sucessfully encoded and they are rea
dy for burning with appropriate dvd burning software.\"
         tried again with dvd x copy exactly the same result about 80% of perfect dvd           help!
