Admittingly I am an amateur. Can anybody please give me some advice as how to burn a DVD that one can play on a normal DVD player and TV. I downloaded 5 hours worth of video from my digital camcorder to Windows Movie maker. Then edited it and saved the completed projects to `My Documents `What to do now to have a proper DVD that I can give to friends to view on their DVD`s at home ? There are 6 projects in total. All about 800-900 MB big.

I am not sure what format movie maker uses but is probably avi. If this is the case you can use the guides same as make dvd from divx or xvid. Meaning you will use tmpgenc to encode to mpg and then whatever authoring program you like to author the dvd I personaly like dvd x maker but any you like will do it after you encode to mpg. I use windvr by intervideo myself. I use it because it allows me to capture from all my devices with this app such as from my tuner card for tv programs my dv camcorder for home movies even my analog capture source for vcr to comp. It will also let you select if you want to capture to avi or if you want to encode from dv to mpeg-1 or dv to mpeg-2 on the fly.
